Chuck Taylor (1901 – 1969) was a basketball player whose signature converse shoe has become the most ubiquitous sneaker of all time.

Michael Jordan (1963-), perhaps the most famous basketball player of all time, has continued his legacy with his signature shoe to the point that they’re probably more well known in popular culture than he is.

By far the most recent of the list, since their release in 2008, active pro skater Stefan Janoski’s signature model shoe has become increasingly popular.
It has been subject to some questionable colourways of late so we went with this clean all white version, available at Slam City Skates.
Converse Jack Purcell
Canadian badminton player Jack Purcell (1903-1991) remained world champion from 1933 up until his retirement in 1945, when he pursued a career as a stockbroker.
A great variation on the Chuck Taylor All-Star, we liked this tidy navy model, available at Woodhouse.
Vans Half Cab
Pro-skateboarder Steve Caballero introduced this mid-top Vans shoe after he and his peers started cutting down the tops of Vans Sk8 Hi sneakers to make them easier to skate in.
